About Me
Welcome to Good Doggy University! I'm a passionate dog trainer dedicated to helping dogs and their owners build strong, positive relationships. With years of experience and a deep love for our four-legged friends, I founded Good Doggy University to provide expert training, valuable resources, and compassionate guidance. Whether you're dealing with basic obedience, advanced tricks, or behavioral challenges, my goal is to make training a rewarding and enjoyable experience for both you and your dog. Join me on this journey to create a happier, healthier life for your furry companion!
As a child, I was terrified of dogs! To help me get over that fear, my dad got me a German Shepherd puppy. As you can imagine, I fell in love with my dog and made sure she was the best behaved dog. Since then, my passion for dogs only grew. Fast forward many, many years, I was diagnosed with Lupus and Rheumatoid Arthritis and began training my Standard Schnauzer, Pepper, to assist me with light mobility work such as picking up items that fell out of my hands and retrieving my Asthma inhaler when my breathing became labored. It was during that process that I knew what was my purpose. After doing my research, the obvious choice to me was to contact CATCH Canine Trainers Academy and become a professional dog trainer through their program. During my studies, I had the privilege of doing my internship with the amazing trainers at Applause Your Paws here in Miami, FL and was hired by my CATCH mentor, Dee Hoult, as one of their professional trainers upon graduation.
My certifications and continuing education include:
Certified through the Certification Counsel of Professional Dog Trainers (CPDT-KA)
Completion of the Aggression in Dogs Master Course
Completion of Training Through the Ears (TBTE) Level 1 Course
Professional Member of the International Association of Canine Professionals
America Kennel Club (AKC) Canine Good Citizen (CGC) Evaluator
Pet First Aid and CPR Certified
